It’s only been a year since the last trip but here we are again. This time we explore Tokyo. A few months ago, I thought I would be posting about Seoul, but things happened differently. When Tokyo calls, you go. You just go.
Upon exiting the subway station, the first thing that greets us is the newly opened Tokyo Skytree. This is the tallest tower in the world. And next to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, it is the second tallest structure on Earth. No earthquake is going to scare Japan.
We are in Asakusa, the old entertainment district and home base to many budget travelers. The main attraction is the Buddhist temple Sensō-ji. But before you get there, you need to pass through Nakamise-dōri, a shopping street where you can buy anything from geisha dolls to ninja suits.
Night or day, it is packed with people.
