The Guiding Light of Basco

With 7,107 islands, the Philippines has one of the longest coastlines in the world. Lighthouses served an important role in sea travel and many of them were built in the 1800’s to the early 1900’s. Many of them are long gone or are in very poor condition. The Basco Lighthouse still looks great, but unfortunately it’s not one of the old ones. It’s just ten years old. Yes, it bummed me out too when I found out.
